Up for sale is a gorgeous Lionel 20-wheel turbine along with the correct 2046-50W Pennsylvania whistling tender lpus their original boxes. Both the steam locomotive and tender that have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and are ready to run on your layout or be displayed in your collection. The exterior paint on each unit is vibrant while the side lettering is crisp and clean plus there is no rust nor oxidation on either item. Additionally, the white side stripe is in nice condition and the additional linkage in the front is complete and fully operational. There are no apologies to either the steamer nor tender plus the tender shell is an original postwar shell that is free of nicks, chips and damage. Lastly, all functionality operates properly such as the headlight, magnetraction, e-unit, smoke unit and whistle. Also included are original boxes for each unit as well as instructions. Below is a summary of the paper items included in the sale:
- The original instructions are correctly numbered 2035-13 and dated January 1954. The instructions have small tears and fading throughout the pages, but are still usable and helpful for proper maintenance. Condition of the instructions are a 6.
- The original Middle Classic turbine box is solid, has both end and tuck flaps but only two of the four inner flaps are present. Additionally, there is clear tape on the interior of most flaps. Lastly, the original insert is also included and in decent condition with no missing tabs. Condition of the box is a 6.
- The original Middle Classic tender box is correctly labelled with "PRR" on each end flap. The box has both end and tuck flaps but missing all interior flaps. Also included is a reproduction insert for the tender. Condition of the box is a 5 to 6.
