Now available for sale is a gorgeous and all-original Hudson steam locomotive with a 2046W whistling tender. These units are from 1953 as the steamer has white heat stamped cab numbers and the tender has bar-end trucks. Additionally, both units have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and all functional operates as designed by Lionel. The exterior colors are pristine while the side lettering and numbers are crisp and complete. There are no dings nor damage on the steamer and the tender shell is complete, including rear steps. Lastly, there is no rust nor oxidation on the frame, trucks nor couplers and the steamer is closer to condition 8!
Also included with this sale is an original box and insert for the steamer, a reproduction box and insert for the tender, original instructions correctly dated 1953 and a half full bottle of smoke pellets. The steamer box and insert are solid and there is no writing nor puncture holes on the box but as seen in the photos above there is some minor moisture staining on the exterior. The reproduction tender box and insert are brand new. Lastly, the original instructions are clean plus the smoke pellet glass container is half full with original postwar smoke pellets.
