This Rock Island box car is from Lionel's final year of postwar production -- 1969 -- and is the variation without the built date printed on the side. This specific box car was purchased as a brand new, unsold inventory item from Madison Hardware in the 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York to Michigan. This box car has never been on the track and the wheel are truly unrun. The exterior colors are pristine, the side lettering is perfect and the base and trucks are in new condition.
