Up for sale is a clean and undamaged red steel version of the 494 Rotary Beacon Tower along with its original box, insert and instructions. This light tower is free of dings, dents and damage but there are a handful of small paint flakes on the tower structure. The original postwar beacon top has been tested and it rotates nicely plus the light works properly.
Additionally, the light tower includes several extras as originally sold by Lionel. The Middle Classic box is solid, has all internal and external flaps, there are no puncture holes on the exterior and only a couple of flaps having clear tape on the interior. Also included are clean original instructions dated August 1954, but there is a 2" tear at the top. Finally, a complete and solid original insert is included with the beacon tower. Overall a very clean accessory that will fit into almost any small space on a layout.
