Additional Comments: Here's a decent looking set of original boxes for the # 2379 Rio Grande F3 AB diesels manufactured in the late 1950's. The 2379P power unit box is a nice, solid and complete original box plus it includes all internal and external flaps. Additionally, the printing on the exterior is bold and the box includes an original Madison Hardware sticker on one side.
The 2379C trailer box is also a solid and complete box with all interior and exterior flaps -- with no tape on the flaps. The exterior colors are bold and it too includes an original Madison Hardware sticker on one side. The only two apologies on the trailer unit box is some reside of masking tape on one side and a slice / tear on one side -- as seen in the 8th (and final) photo above. Lastly, the 2379C includes an original postwar insert for the trailer unit. Even with these apologies, the box is far nicer than most 2379P and 2379C boxes available in the marketplace these days!
