Up for sale is a gorgeous set of original Amtrak Budd-style passenger cars from the late 1970's. This hard-to-find series of Amtrak passenger cars are all low-mileage units and look fantastic. Below is a summary of the set:
- The set consists of the following items:
- 8868 powered baggage car
- 8869 non-powered passenger car
- 8870 non-powered passenger car
- 8871 non-powered baggage car
- Each passenger car shell is in near-new condition with absolutely pristine exterior colors along with perfect Amtrak decorations.
- The only reason the set is graded an 8+ and not higher is each frame has the slightest hint of some minor oxidation starting on their bases.
- The 8868 motorized unit has been fully cleaned, serviced, tested and runs flawlessly.
- All interior lights work properly.
- All pilots are complete and not damaged plus all functional couplers do work properly.
- All of the original boxes are complete, clean and free of writing, tape and tears but each has a hint of some staining or aging on the exterior. Additionally, each box has both original interior styrofoam inserts along with the shipping bag for each car.
- The 8868 powered unit has the original warranty card and Service Station listing.
