Up for sale is a beautiful, one-year-only Amtrak GG-1 that was manufactured by Lionel only in 1989. All traditional Lionel GG-1's locomotives have become popular over the years and this Amtrak version is yet another GG-1 following in that tradition. Modeled after the real life Amtrak GG-1, many collectors and operators still find the prototypical and colorful paint scheme attractive 40 years after its initial introduction.
This locomotive has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality operates just as designed by Lionel. The locomotive has limited run time, is in near-new condition plus the exterior colors are pristine while the side lettering and graphics are in perfect condition. Even the pantographs are original Lionel components. Additionally, there is no rust nor oxidation to the trucks nor frame, the body is in great condition and there are no nicks, chips nor blemishes on the exterior.
Also included with this road switcher is its original box, styrofoam insert and original paperwork. The box does have some spotting / aging on the exterior of one side, but otherwise is solid. Features of the GG-1 include:
