Up for sale is a gorgeous, all-original Satellite Launching flatcar with an original postwar satellite. The flatcar has vibrant exterior colors with clean, crisp and complete side lettering and graphics. There is nothing is chipped, cracked nor repaired on this freight car plus the launching mechanism does operate as designed by Lionel. Lastly, the AAR trucks are complete and fully functional.
Also included with the satellite launching flatcar is its original box and instructions. The instructions are the hard-to-find variation with blue printing (versus black printing) and are clean, complete and correctly dated August 1961. The original box is as solid as a brick and includes all interior and exterior flaps, is free of tape, writing and stains and simply looks beautiful.
Note: In the 4th photo above (showing the top of the flatcar), the color appears unbalanced, not uniform and simply odd. That is not the case, it's a factor of the light reflection in the picture. The top of the freight car looks fantastic with perfect, uniform coloring.
