Here's an extremely clean, all original Virginain five car O gauge diesel freight set from 1957. This outfit has been well cared for by the prior owner and all components are in beautiful condition with complimentary original boxes. As you review the 27 photos, you'll notice all of the items have correct 1957 manufacturing characteristics as well as properly dated instruction sheets and correct boxes.
The condition of the rolling stock and caboose are all clean, complete, free of rust and oxidation and graded at a 7++ to an 8. The FM Trainmaster has some minor signs of usage, but still graded a 7+. The exterior paint on each train is vibrant, the side lettering is crisp and the numbers and graphics are clean and complete. Lastly, all boxes are the correct Late Classic variation (correct for this set) and the original boxes are nice and solid with only a few boxes missing some interior flaps.
Lastly, all of the trains in this set have been cleaned, tested, serviced and the diesel runs like a champ! Included in this set are the following:
- 2331 Virginian: Nice and clean, graded 7+. The shell has the typical hairline cracks by each screwhole and some light / mild tarnishing on the walkway. Otherwise, the diesel has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and is ready to run on your layout. Lastly, the original box is complete and solid plus it includes an original insert with repairs by the coupler flap.
- 3662 Automatic Refrigerator Car: Very clean, no damage and no rust / oxidation and graded a 7++. It has been tested and works properly plus it includes the original milk stand (graded a 7 to 7+). Lastly, the original box has all internal and external flaps but there is tape on the interior of several flaps. Also included is the original packing envelope for the milk cans, original instructions plus the insert.
- 6414 Auto Loader: Beautiful condition with original autos. The freight car is easily graded an 8 plus all automobiles have complete front and rear bumpers with nothing missing nor damaged. Lastly, the original box has all internal and external flaps and is as solid as a brick!
- 6418 Machinery Flatcar: This freight car looks beautiful, easily graded an 8! There is no rust on the freight car and nothing broken nor damaged on the girders. Also included is a beautiful original box, complete with both end and tuck flaps as well as all four interior flaps -- however both coupler flaps are missing.
- 6425 Gulf Tank Car: This freight car is also in beautiful condition, easily graded an 8! The tanker has all three top filler cap and there is no rust nor oxidation on the trucks. Lastly, the original box has all internal and external flaps and is as solid as a brick!
- 6517 Bay Window Caboose: Like several of the freight cars above, this caboose is in gorgeous condition and easily graded an 8. There are no nicks nor chips on the shell and the frame and trucks are clean and free of rust and oxidation. Lastly, the original box has all internal and external flaps and is as solid as a brick!
- UCS Remote Control Track: condition 8 with a rewired controller that is complete and free of rust and oxidation and it includes a nice and solid original box.
- Paperwork: Operating instructions are included for the 2331 Virginain diesel, 3662 operating milk car and UCS track section.
- Set Box: Set box is nice, clean, complete and graded an 7+! There are no missing flaps and it is free of writing, stains and issues on the exterior.
