Product Overview

 Condition:  7+          Original Box:  7+          Year:  1957

Here's an extremely clean, all original Hudson four car O gauge steam freight set. This 1957 outfit has been well cared for over the years and all of the components are nice, undamaged and operating as designed by Lionel. This set includes several extras generally missing from complete boxed sets. As you review the 24 photos, you'll notice all of the items have correct 1957 manufacturing characteristics as well as properly dated instruction sheets.

Regarding the condition of the rolling stock, steam locomotive and tender, everything is clean, complete, free of rust and oxidation and graded at an 7+. The exterior paint on each train is vibrant, the side lettering is crisp and the numbers and graphics are clean and complete. Lastly, all boxes are the correct Late Classic variation (correct for this set) and the original boxes are nice and solid with only a few boxes missing some interior flaps.

All of the trains in this set have been cleaned, tested, serviced and the steamer runs like a champ plus the tender whistle is loud and strong! Included in this set are the following:

  • 665 Hudson with 2046W tender. Both items are clean, complete and not damaged. The only blemish on the steamer are a couple of minor marks on the top in front of the cab. Otherwise, the steamer and tender are clean, free of rust and oxidation and both items have been fully cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality works as designed. Additionally, each of their original boxes and inserts are complete and solid and the steamer includes a near-full bottle of smoke pellets, wooden tamper, tube of lubricant.
  • 3650 Searchlight Extension Car: no exterior nicks, marks nor blemishes, no rust nor oxidation, tested and works properly. Overall condition is 7++ with a nice original box.
  • 6446 N & W Cement Car: no exterior nicks, marks nor blemishes and all top hatches are complete and not damaged. Overall condition is 7+ with a decent original box.
  • 6560  Bucyrus Erie Crane Car: this is the nicest freight car of the set, easily graded a 7++ to an 8 with no nicks, marks nor blemishes. Also included is a nice original box with a reproduction insert.
  • 6119-75 D. L. & W. Work Caboose: condition 7 to 7+, nice and clean, nothing broken, nicked nor cracked but there are a couple of very minor paint flakes on the frame and corner steps. Additionally, the original box is complete with all interior and exterior flaps.
  • UCS Remote Control Track: condition 8 with a rewired controller that is complete and free of rust and oxidation. Includes a decent original box that is partly squashed on one end.
  • Paperwork: 1952 operators manual, 1952 / 1953 Lionel Service Station Listing, complete, never used set of 1952 billboards, plus instructions for the steamer, UCS and 3464 operating box car as well as the original inspection tag for the steam locomotive.
  • Set Box: Set box is nice, clean, complete and graded an 7+! There are no missing flaps and it is free of writing, stains and issues on the exterior.
  • The only original items missing from the set are the original billboards plus the straight and curve O gauge track (but the UCS section is included)

Don't miss out on this opportunity to purchase a clean, fully serviced and ready to run Lionel outfit that is complete with many of the hard-to-find extras!
