Additional Comments: Up for sale is an approximate 1946 era original Lionel set box. Below is a summary of the box:
- The side label is unfortunately (mostly) missing from the box -- so the original set number is unknown.
- The box component number is 2101-1, so presumably the outfit box was for either for set # 2101 or # 2101W from 1946 - both being an O gauge outfit.
- Approximate dimensions of the box are: 12.75" wide, 13.0" deep and 7.0" tall.
- For reference, set # 2101 / 2101W included; 224 Prairie steam locomotive, 2466 tender (either whistling or non-whistling), 2555 Sunoco tank car, 2452 Pennsylvania gondola and the 2457 illuminated Pennsylvania caboose.
Externally, the box is in decent condition and relatively clean and solid. All interior and exterior flaps are included, although two of the top flaps have support tape on the interior (as seen in the last photo above). The top of the box has Garage written in two places, otherwise it's free of writing and staining. Internally, the box is clean and free of moisture staining. Lastly -- and as seen in the photos above -- there is some shelf wear on the exterior.
