Now available for sale is a New Old Stock Baltimore & Ohio President Roosevelt Observation car -- which was manufactured by Lionel for only a single year and designed to be an add-on car to their Capital Limited passenger car set. However, the unusual part of this passenger car is the presidential sticker on the rear of the observation car. All B & O observation cars should have the I Like Ike rear decal for President Eisenhower. This observation car has the Vote For FDR Roosevelt sticker on the rear. Additionally, the passenger car was sold in a Roosevelt labeled box -- which matches the rear decal. Looks like someone messed up at the Lionel factory!
This illuminated observation car has pristine exterior colors along with crisp, clean and complete side lettering and graphics. Additionally, the trucks and frame are clean and free of rust and oxidation plus there's not a nick, mark nor blemish on the exterior. Overall, a beautiful passenger car that is somewhat hard-to-find these days and would look great on a layout or display case.
Also included is a complete and solid original box with all interior and exterior flaps as well as the front plastic window -- which is fully intact and free of tears and puncture holes.
