Here's a gorgeous, New Old Stock Southern bay window caboose. Oddly, this somewhat hard-to-find caboose was never pictured in any Lionel catalogue, flyer, brochure or booklet and only appeared on the 1978 Dealer Order Form. The caboose includes Lionel's premium die-cast trucks and couplers, has pristine exterior colors, perfect side lettering and graphics and looks like it was just manufactureed yesterday! The simulated smokestack has never been installed and still wrapped in the scotch tape from the production cycle. Obviously nothing is nicked, chipped nor damaged and certainly no rust. Lastly, the base and trucks are as clean as the caboose and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track.
The original box is solid and complete and includes a complete and undamaged cellophane front panel.
