Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 773 Semi-scale Hudson w/ 773W New York Central whistling tender!

Up for sale is a brand new, never used and all-original Lionel semi-scale Hudson with the slightly harder-to-find 773W New York Central whistling tender. This steamer and tender combination show no signs of usage and the wheels on both units are new and have no indication of having ever been run on a track. The exterior colors are vibrant, the side lettering is vibrant, crisp and clean and there are no signs of rust nor oxidation on the base, wheels, trucks, couplers nor body. Truly a brand new, unused locomotive and tender that has no signs of damage, dents nor dings on either unit.

Also included are original boxes, but they are in various condition. The power unit box and original insert are as solid as a brick. The printing on the exterior is pristine, the box and insert are rigid and firm, all box flaps are present (and free of tape on the interior), there are no puncture holes and other than '1968' written in pencil on one side, it's free of writing. Condition of the power unit box is a 9. Finally, the original wrapping paper for the steamer is also included with this steam locomotive.

Unfortunately, the tender box has not held up as well as the steam locomotive box. The 773W box is missing most flaps on one end. The opposite end of the box does have the end flap present as well as the coupler flap and one of the two inner flaps. Externally, there is shelf wear on most sides and clear tape on the interior of the one present end flap. Condition of the tender box is a 5 or 6.

Note: Neither the steamer and tender have been serviced nor tested. For the true Lionel purist, both units still have their original grease and oil from the mid-1960's within the motor and whistle chamber. This is called out because the locomotive motor is currently frozen due to the harden grease and the tender whistle needs oil to sound perfect. If interested, a full service can be done on both units for no additional charge prior to shipping.
