Up for sale is a beautiful 726 Berkshire and die-cast 2426W whistling tender from 1947. This Berkshire locomotive has the traditional smoke element and no coupler casting on the front pilot -- which was a one-year-only variation for 1947. The exterior colors on both units are clean while the side lettering on the tender is crisp and complete -- however the cab numbers are a little light or worn on the cab. Both units have been fully cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality operates just as designed by Lionel. The e-unit cycles properly, the smoke unit works, the headlight does illuminate plus the whistle works properly. Additionally, there is no rust nor oxidation on either item plus the tender has all metal corner steps. Overall, a really nice and clean steamer and tender combination.
