Now available for sale is the somewhat hard-to-find crane car with the 656025 printed on each side of the frame. This one-year-only variation from 1956 has pristine exterior colors along with vibrant and crisp side lettering and graphics. The crane car has been thoroughly cleaned and tested and all functionality works as designed by Lionel plus both handles operate properly and the hook is correctly attached to the side handle. Lastly, there is nothing broken, damaged nor repaired on the freight car and the trucks have a factory fresh finish on all metal components.
Also included with the freight car is a somewhat unusual original box. The typical 6560-25 boxes are Late Classic designs with the number pre-printed onto the end flaps. This original box, however, is a leftover Middle Classic box from 1955 with the "25" rubber stamped onto each end flap. The box does have all internal and external flaps along with both tuck flaps, but there is clear tape on the interior of almost every flap. Lastly, the insert is an original postwar insert that is free of tears, staining and tape.
