Up for sale is a New Old Stock # 6464-250 Western Pacific box car from 1966! This brand new, never used freight car was part of a collection of trains where a significant number of items were purchased from Madison Hardware's days in Michigan in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this freight car, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, brand new plus all components are in pristine condition including the box.
The exterior colors on this box car are vibrant while the side lettering and graphics are in perfect condition. Additionally, all metal components on this one-year-only variation with AAR trucks are factory fresh, free of rust and oxidation and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. The only two apologies are a small surface mark on one door (see photo 2 above) and the base has the outline of 107 -- which is unknow as to the meaning. Otherwise, there are no other nicks, chips nor damage on the body and the body shows no signs of handling. Overall, a truly gorgeous freight car.
Lastly, the original box is included with this box car. This Cellophane Front Panel box is in pristine condition with all exterior and interior flaps on each end -- plus there is no tape on the interior.
