Now available for sale is a well used Great Northern box car from the early 1950's. This freight car has clean exterior colors and nice side lettering and graphics -- but as seen in the photos above, there are plenty of small and minor surface nicks, marks and scratches from hauling freight on the Lionel Lines railroad over the prior 75 years. There are no chips nor cracks on the body and the frame, trucks and door guides are clean with only very minor signs of aging. Overall, a decent operator grade box car.
Also included is a mediocre original Middle Classic box for the Great Northern box car. This empty box is nice and solid, but unfortunately -- and as seen in the photos above -- has a bunch of exterior moisture staining along the perimeter. However, the box has both end and tuck flaps, all four interior flaps and one of the two coupler flaps. Although not a collector quality box, it can keep your Great Northern box car protected while in storage.
