Now available for sale is a well-used but fully functional Ballast Tamper from the late 1950's. This motorized unit is a combination of pros and cons and could be the foundation of a weekend project or simply a parts item for someone. Below is a summary of the unit:
Pros:
- The unit has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced and tested and it runs like a champ!
- Externally and internally, the unit is free of rust and oxidation.
- The side on/off activation lever does function properly.
- All front six red tampers are fully functional and operate properly.
- The figure is an original postwar figure.
Cons:
- The unit is missing both track activators.
- The rear coupler is broken and missing.
- The body is in good condition but does have minor surface marks plus the rear spring antenna is slightly bent.
