Now available for sale is a beautiful, all original rotating searchlight car from the early 1950's. This searchlight car has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and the rotating top flies around when the power is applied to the track! The on/off mechanism works properly, the freight car has vibrant exterior colors plus the side lettering and graphic are crisp and complete Additionally, there are no nicks nor marks on the sides nor surface of the flatcar plus the trucks and couplers are clean and free or rust and oxidation. Lastly, all four corner metal footsteps are still present on the freight car and the rotating searchlight cap and lens are original postwar components. Overall, a gorgeous functional searchlight car.
Also included with the freight car are original instructions and the correct Middle Classic box. The instructions are clean and correctly dated June 1953. The box is solid, has both end and tuck flaps, all four inner flaps but unfortunately is missing both coupler flaps.
