Now available for sale is a nice and clean Western Pacific operating box car. This freight car has a clean silver exterior with nice feather decals on each side as well as complete black lettering and graphics. Additionally, the catwalk ends are complete and not broken nor damaged plus the operating mechanism has been tested and does work properly. However, upon closer inspection there are two flaws to note, making this an very nice operate grade box car:
- First, the frame and trucks are from a 1949 3464 operating box car as it has staple-end trucks and corner metal footsteps. Operators will certainly like this additional corner footstep detail on this freight car.
- Secondly, there is a small chips on one lower corner of the body. This chip in the body is visible in the 5th photo above (lower left corner).
