Now available for sale is a gorgeous New York Central operating box car with a somewhat rare, overstamped original box. Externally, the colors are pristine while the side lettering and graphics are clean, crisp and complete. Additionally all metal components look new and are clean and free of rust and oxidation. Finally, this box car is the 1951 variation with staple-end trucks, die-cast doors and no corner steps on the frame.
Also included with the freight car is a very unusual Middle Classic Santa Fe box overstamped with NYC on each end as well as original instructions. The instructions are dated September 1950 and are clean and complete. The box is solid, square and in near-new condition with both end and tuck flaps, all four interior flaps and absolutely no tape, puncture holes nor writing on the box.
