Here's a gorgeous New York Central operating box car with its original box and instructions. Externally, the colors are pristine while the side lettering and graphics are clean, crisp and complete. Additionally all metal components look new and are clean and free of rust and oxidation. Finally, this box car is the 1949 variation with staple-end trucks, die-cast doors and corner steps on the frame.
Also included with the freight car is a nice, clean and solid Three Cities Middle Classic box that is free of puncture holes and writing. The box has both end and tuck flaps, all four interior flaps and one of the two coupler flaps. The instructions are clean and dated January 1950 -- indicating early 1950 production with 1949 components.
