Now available for sale is a beautiful, all-original 3462 operating milk car, complete with an original stand, milk cans and box. This operating milk car has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and is ready to run on your layout or include in your display case. This freight car includes the following components:
- Original, undamaged freight car that has been rewired, tested and works properly. The car has some surface paint rub marks, but is free of nicks, chips and damage plus the base and trucks are clean and free of rust and oxidation.
- Set of seven postwar milk cans, each with a functional magnet. Additionally, the original small milk can box is included. This smaller box has both end flaps, but missing some interior flap plus there is clear tape on one end.
- Original postwar platform, although the top, shiny platform is a reproduction component. The base is clean but there is some paint loss on the bottom from installation on a layout.
- Original Art Deco box with both end and tuck flaps plus three of the four inner flaps but there is some clear tape on the inside of several flaps. Additionally, the original insert is included -- which is complete with all flaps and tabs.
- Original, clean and complete instructions dated January 1948.
- Original inspection tag correctly dated 1948.
Overall, a really nice and clean 3462 milk car that includes many of the original 'extras' as sold by Lionel.
