Here's a clean, fully functional 3454 Operating Merchandise box car that includes the original box, original insert, the scarce original 3454-51 parts envelope with six original "3814 Miniature Packing Cases" and a photocopy of the 3454-47 instruction sheet from 1946 instruction sheet.

This operating freight car is the earlier 1946 variation with the hidden roof hinge pin on the side. The box car has recently been cleaned, serviced, tested and it operates perfectly plus it includes an original # 160 bakelite dump bin. The car shows some light evidence of use and the silver is not vibrant, but it is in nice condition. The silver paint has held up well and is clean but has lost a little of its exterior luster however the heat-stamped lettering is still strong, crisp, and complete. The frame and trucks are super clean and in great condition without even a hint of rust.

The original box is graded a 6+ and is the correct Art Deco version without the "Toy Logo" on the exterior. Additionally there is some tape on the interior and exterior, however all six flaps are present. Also present is a complete original insert.

• Silver-painted body with matching silver-painted metal doors
• Hinge pin for roof hatch is hidden on this 1946 version
• Blue heat-stamped lettering
• Car actually numbered "3454"on left and "X3454" on right
• PRR logo and technical data on right
• Brake wheel
• Staple-end trucks with coil couplers
• Metal steps at the four corners
• The correct 3"x 7" 160 Bakelite unloading bin is included and the cubes are guaranteed 100% original.
