Up for sale is a scarce green production sample of the #26 Illuminated Bumper. This bumper was purchased in a collection from the original owner who had Lionel trains dating between 1947 and 1952. When shown to other experienced collectors, it is believed this was a Lionel sample color from 1950 as it matches the green on the 1950 #455 Oil Derrick.
This bumper has been cleaned, tested and does work properly. The external colors are clean, but as seen in the photos above, there are numerous paint nicks and chips along the edges. There is no damage to the bumper and certainly no rust nor oxidation. Overall, it's still a very nice piece to display in a collection and will certainly elevate your collection above others as this color sample is truly scare and rare!
