Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous New Old Stock set of Pennsylvania extruded aluminum passenger cars! These cars were supposedly purchased at Madison Hardware in the mid 1980's -- prior to their move out of New York City -- but do not have any paperwork to confirm that information.
Included in this beautiful, new set are the following
- 2541 Alexander Hamilton Observation
- 2542 Betsy Ross Vista Dome
- 2543 William Penn Pullman
- 2544 Molly Pitcher Pullman
Each passenger car has been lightly cleaned, tested and all couplers work properly and all interior lights do illuminate. There is no rust nor oxidation on any of the cars and all side decals / stripes are original postwar stripes. Lastly, the base and trucks are clean and free of rust and oxidation and there is no wheel wear on any of the trucks!
However, the best part of this set are the original boxes. Each box is in beautiful condition being square, solid and includes all interior and exterior flaps -- except one box is missing one interior flap. Additionally, there is no tape on any of the flaps and each passenger car does include the original inspection tag. It is interesting to note the boxes are a mixture of Middle Classic and Late Classic boxes, dating the set to an early 1955 time frame.
