Condition: NOS Original Box: 9+ Year: 1962
Now available for sale is a New Old Stock set of Gold Stripe Presidential extruded aluminum passenger cars! These cars were supposedly purchased at Madison Hardware in the late 1980's -- prior to their move out of New York City -- but do not have any paperwork to confirm that information. However, one box has the typical moisture staining on the exterior -- which was prevalent on many of the Madison Hardware boxes.
This gorgeous passenger car set includes the following:
- 2521 President McKinley Observation
- 2522 President Harrison Vista Dome
- 2523 President Garfield Pullman
Each passenger car has been lightly cleaned, tested and all couplers work properly and all interior lights do illuminate. There is no rust nor oxidation on any of the cars and all side decals / stripes are original postwar stripes. Lastly, the base and trucks are clean and free of rust and oxidation.
However, the best part of this set are the original boxes. Each box is in near-perfect condition being square, solid and includes all interior and exterior flaps -- plus there is no tape on any of the flaps. It looks like the boxes are just a few months old -- they are in amazing condition! The 2521 and 2523 boxes are Orange Picture boxes while the 2522 is an Orange Perforated box.
