Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 2460 Bucyrus Erie crane car from 1946! This brand new, never used crane car was part of a collection of trains where a significant number of items were purchased from Madison Hardware's days in Michigan in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this freight car, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, brand new, all components are in pristine condition plus it has a great looking box.
The exterior colors on this crane are pristine while the side lettering, graphics and decals are in perfect condition. Additionally, all metal components on this freight car are factory fresh, free of rust and oxidation and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. There are no nicks, chips nor damage on the body and the body shows no signs of handling. Overall, a truly gorgeous freight car.
Lastly, the original Art Deco box is included with this box car along with both original inserts. The box is the earlier Art Deco variation without the American Toys logo on the side. Additionally, all exterior and interior flaps are present and the box is free of tears, tape and damage. Lastly, both original inserts are included and each are free of tears and damage.
