Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 2383 Santa Fe F3 AA diesels from the mid-1960's!
Up for sale is brand new, never used Lionel Santa Fe F3 Alco diesel that was purchased from a collection where a significant number of items were obtained from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this particular diesel, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, solid and complete original boxes and each unit is looking factory fresh!
This particular diesel set has pristine external colors with bright, crisp and complete side lettering and graphics. There are no external surface nicks nor blemishes and the silver is vibrant. Additionally, the red and yellow stripes are vibrant and the only apology is the GM printed lettering on one side was printed with light ink. Otherwise, there's not a nick or mark on the shells and all wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. Additionally, the power unit was bench tested and works perfectly plus the horn was battery tested and operates just as designed by Lionel. The interior of both units as well as the motors, e-unit, internal wiring and horn are clean and the power unit has the mid-1960's motors with red and green armature windings. Lastly, there is no rust nor oxidation on either diesel.
Also available for sale are their original boxes. The original boxes are clean, solid and complete with all interior and exterior flaps. The manufactures printing and labels are clean and the only writing on the exterior is small print saying "New October 1964" on one long box side.
