Now available for sale is an gorgeous, all-original 2046W whistling tender. The tender was purchased from the original owner in a collection with a 675 steamer (that was unfortunately heavily damaged) -- so this lonesome tender is looking for a new home. It appears to be an early 1952 production variation as the tender shell has the three holes in the rear (produced throughout 1950 & 1951) but with bar-end trucks (from 1952). Knowing the original steam locomotive was the 675, this implies an early 1952 production item.
The tender has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and is ready for your layout. Externally, the tender shell is beautiful with vibrant colors, crisp and complete side lettering plus there is nothing broken, chipped, nicked nor repaired. The frame, trucks and couplers are free of rust and oxidation and internally, all components are just as clean as the exterior. Finally, the wiring has been replaced and is all set for another 40 years of usage!
This tender was produced in 1952 for the 675, but is also fully compatible with many other postwar steam locomotives including the 665, 685, 736, 2046, 2055, 2056 and much more.
