Up for sale is a gorgeous, near-new and all-original 2026 Prairie steam locomotive with a 6466WX whistling tender from the late 1940's. This steamer and tender combination is the earlier variation with the steamer having the beautiful nickel-rimmed drive wheels and additional side rods compared to the later 2026 version.
Both the steam locomotive and whistling tender have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and operate perfectly. The e-unit cycles properly, the smoke unit puffs smoke like a chimney, the front headlight does illuminate and the tender whistle is loud and strong. The exterior colors are pristine, the side lettering is clean and complete (although one cab number is was not perfectly applied by the factory compared to the opposite side) and the drive rods are clean, original parts. Lastly, the tender shell is an original shell and neither the tender nor steamer show any signs of rust nor oxidation. If you're looking for a high-grade Prairie steamer, this is a great option for a display case or running on a layout.
