Here's a clean postwar K-4 Pacific steam locomotive and whistling tender from 1952. This steamer and tender combination is the later variation with the 2-6-4 wheel arrangement and bar-end trucks on the tender. Both units have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality works exactly as designed -- and the smoke unit puffs like a chimney! The exterior colors are nice, clean and vibrant, the side lettering is crisp and complete plus there is no damage to either item however the tender frame has some paint loss and some light surface scratches on the tender shell. The steamer is in condition 7 plus the boiler front is a reproduction component. Lastly, the side drive rods are clean, free of rust and oxidation but some tarnishing is starting in a few locations. Overall, a nice, clean and dependable steamer and whistling tender combination.
