Up for sale is an extremely clean, all-original 1872 General style steam locomotive -- with the black headlight lantern cover -- and tender. Both the steamer and tender have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested. The e-unit, headlight and smokestack operate perfectly however the e-unit is occasionally sticky and operates properly 75% of the time -- but will sometimes get stuck in a specific mode. Additionally, all boiler support braces for the handrail are complete and not cracked nor repaired -- plus both units are clean and free of rust and oxidation. Lastly, the external colors are vibrant, not faded and the side lettering is crisp and complete. Both of these items are in fantastic condition -- close to condition 8 -- and would look great on a layout of in a display case.
Also included with this sals is the original box for the steam locomotive as well as instruction. The box is solid, free of writing and stains, but is missing the front perorated panel, the orange sleeve going around the box and one smaller end flap has been re-attached to the box. The instructions are clean and dated 1959.
