Product Overview

 Condition:  7+           Original Box:  7          Year:  1950

Here's the early and rare variation of the Operating Gateman accessory with the red roof. The red roof versions are assumed to have been produced in mid 1950 and then changed to the common maroon roof by the end of that year (which remained the common color throughout the remainder of postwar production). This accessory is extremely clean, fully serviced, tested and ready to set up on your layout or in a display case. The accessory has a clean base with beautiful exterior colors and nothing is damaged, but there are minor paint flakes along the edge. Lastly, there is no rust nor oxidation on the accessory but the base is missing two tabs on the bottom.

Also included is the correct 1950 box as well as a set of original instructions (properly dated June 1950, the first variation of these instructions), inspection tag, early version of the 145C packing envelope plus the 145C track activator and four used coiled wires. Lastly, the insert appears to be a reproduction insert.

Lastly, the original warranty tag from the seller has been taped to the exterior of the box -- and somehow has survived 70+ years! Although there is little collector value to the card, it is a nice novelty and conversation piece for this accessory.
