Here's a New Old Stock # 1122 set of Remote Control 027 Gauge Switches from 1953!

These 027 gauge switches are brand new, unsold inventory from 1953. The exterior box has some aging due to storage for years, however the internal components are truly new and unused. The only reason the switches are not graded NOS is one of the terminal posted has snapped off and been replaced with a new post.

The switches have been tested and operate properly. Externally, what you see is exactly as the switches were packed by a Lionel employee at their factory back in 1953. These switches are unique and can either be displayed in a collectable case or used on your layout. If used on a layout, they will need a quick cleaning and lubrication, but the controller has already been rewired due to dr rot wire on the controller.

Both the instruction sheet and box are dated 1953 and the one switch with pins at the single track end includes the original small cardboard insert / protector needed for shipping and even the inspection tag is included under a center rail. Lastly, the rails are nice and clean and free of rust, oxidation and tarnishing. Finally, the original box is in nice condition on 5 of the 6 sides, the 6th side has some aging on a portion of the side (as seen in a photo above).

If you're looking for an interesting Lionel item with an unusual background -- this could be the perfect addition to your collection.

Lionel #1122 Left & Right track switchers & controller

Posted by Tom Berner on Dec 17th 2024

These O27 Lionel # 1122 track switchers & controller are the best I’ve ever seen. They should be in a museum. I inherited my father’s set from 1953-1957. He purchased 4 sets of these new in 1953 & they are almost as nice as this one.
