Up for sale is a New Old Stock Chicago & North Western bay window caboose produced for a single year: 1980. This particular caboose has never been used and is truly in brand-new condition -- even the separately applied top simulated smoke stack is still taped to the base of the frame. Additionally, the caboose has the traditional Symington-Wayne trucks with functional couplers, however it is one of the few modern era bay window cabooses that does not have a 'Built Date' on the side -- somewhat unusual for a Lionel caboose. Lastly, the external colors are spotless, the side graphics and lettering are pristine, the base, trucks and couplers are new with no signs of usage, rust nor oxidation plus the interior light has been tested and does operate properly.
Also included with the caboose is a complete and solid original box. The box has all flaps and the front cellophane panel is complete and intact.
