Up for sale is the somewhat hard-to-find Southern Pacific U36C AA diesels from 1979. These uncatalogued diesels are decorated in the popsicle paint scheme -- something that was tried on a handful of real life Southern Pacific locomotives, but never becamce popular nor widespread.
Externally, the paint scheme on each diesel is brand new, neither diesel has ever been used are are truly New Old Stock inventory from 1979. The colors are pristine with vibrant side lettering and graphics. Internally, the frame, motor and trucks are as clean as the exterior and free or rust and oxidation. The motor has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and it runs like a champ. Lastly, the lights work properly, the e-unit is functional and the front functional coupler is fully operational.
Also included with the diesel are all original paperwork items including:
- Clean and complete original instructions.
- Original warranty cards.
- Lionel Service Station Listing from 1978 / 1979.
- Two original boxes that are as solid as a brick and each includes all internal and external flaps plus the complete syrofoam inserts.
