Up for sale is a near-new, all-original 746 Norfolk & Western Class J Northern style steam locomotive and whistling tender. The steam locomotive does show some very minor wheel wear on the larger drive wheels but the front pilot truck appears to be unused. Additionally, the tender shows no signs of every being on the track and run. Overall condition of the set is gorgeous as both items still have a factory fresh appearance to them.
The steamer and tender have been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and operate perfectly including the three position e-unit, smoke unit and illuminated headlight. Additionally, the steam locomotive's front pilot is in perfect condition and free of nicks and paint chips commonly seen on the pilot when used on a layout. Both units free of rust and oxidation, the external colors are vibrant and the side lettering is crisp and complete anthough one side of the tenders strip has some flaking due to age. Lastly, both of these items are in fantastic condition and would look great on a layout of in a display case.
