Here's an impressive and near-new 736 Berkshire with a 2046W Lionel Lines whistling tender. Both the locomotive and tender have striking exterior colors with clean, crisp and complete side lettering and graphics plus there are no nicks, chips nor apologies on either item. Each unit has been thoroughly cleaned, serviced, tested and all functionality works properly including the e-unit, the smoke unit, the headlight is functional, the tender whistle is loud and the locomotive is the early variation with the die-cast trailing truck. Additionally, the trucks, frame and wheels are clean and free of rust and oxidation and the tender has an original postwar shell that is complete with both rear corner steps and free of cracks and damage.
Also included with this set are the following extras:
- The steamer box is solid, complete with all interior and exterior flaps but is missing the original insert. This box is dated February 1953 and the condition of the box is a 7+ to an 8.
- The tender box is in mediocre condition with a faded exterior, several interior flaps missing and clear tape on the exterior. The box does include a reproduction insert and the cndition of the tender box is a 6.
- Original instructions are included and dated February 1954.
- Original wooden smoke pellet tamper.
- Lastly, an original bottle of smoke pellets are included -- which is about 3/4 full.
Overall, an absolutely gorgeous Berkshire steam and whistling tender that runs like a champ!
