Up for sale is a New Old Stock # 6844 Missile Carrying Flatcar from the 1959 / 1960 era!
This brand new, never used freight car was purchased from a collection where a significant number of items were purchased from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this particular flatcar, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, missing its original box but in gorgeous condition.
The exterior colors on the flatcar are pristine plus the side lettering is bright, crisp and complete. The six white missiles are original postwar missiles and there is no damage nor cracks on the flatcar nor the top structure. Lastly, both trucks and couplers are complete and functional and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track.
