Up for sale is a beautiful, all-original and undamaged 6801 flatcar with an original 6418-9 elastic band and brown boat. This freight car has the early bar-end trucks and it tto looks fantastic and very close to being unrun! The flatcar is the earlier 1957 production with the 6511-2 mold, bar-end trucks clipped to a blackened stamped steel truck plate plus the number is to the right of "LIONEL". The side lettering has vibrant white heat-stamped lettering that is bold, crisp and complete. Lastly, all metal parts are all factory fresh in appearance.
The original boat has the correct small, squared off motor housing in the rear of the boat. The white hull has the familiar aged, cream-colored look due to aging. The brown hull is flawless with a beautiful brown color.
Lastly, the original box is solid as a brick and has the correct red-orange exterior commonly seen on many 1957-era boxes. All eight flaps are present although one of the tuck flaps has been rebuilt. There is some minor box discoloration on the exterior due to age.
