Up for sale is a beautiful Alaska box car from the late 1950's, which is also one of the rarest box cars within the 6464-series of freight cars. This box car is extremely clean with vibrant exterior colors and pristine side lettering and graphics. Additionally, the body is free of nicks, chips and damage. All metal components -- including the frame, door guides, brake wheel, couplers, wheels and axles -- are equally clean and free of rust and oxidation. Features of the box car include:
- Type III body mold
- Blue painted body
- Yellow painted upper stripe
- Navy heat-stamped lettering on yellow
- Yellow heat-stamped lettering on blue
- Blue painted multi-block doors
- Car numbered "6464825"
- Eskimo figure on left
- Metal brake wheel
- AAR trucks
Also included with this freight car is a complete original box with all six original flaps as well as the front perforated panel. The front panel has been reinforced with glue, but it is not very obvious when looking at the box plus several flaps have clear tape on the interior. Overall, a gorgeous freight car that does not often appear for sale in high grade collector condition.
