Up for sale is a somewhat hard-to-find New Haven box car from 1956. This freight car has the less common half serif "N" on each side in the NH logo -- plus the freight car includes a very unusual rubber stamped 6464-425 New Haven box! The freight car is the early variation with bar-end trucks and a smooth interior roof. The exterior colors are crisp and vibrant while the side lettering and graphics are complete and not worn nor faded. Lastly, the frame, door guides and trucks are in great condition and free of rust and oxidation and the overall appearance of the paint and lettering is close to an 8!
As mentioned above, the original Late Classic rubber stamped box is truly unusual and fairly difficult to locate. The box includes all interior and exterior flaps but many flaps have clear tape on the interior. Additionally, the box contains the generic "12-6" number stamped into the tuck flap.
