Now available for sale is a gorgeous, near-new and all-original New York Central gondola from early 1949. This black gondola has staple-end trucks, original postwar barrels plus a brakewheel and four metal corner steps. The exterior colors are gorgeous, the side lettering is extremely clean and white plus there are no nicks, chips nor blemishes on the freight car. Lastlky, the base and trucks are extremely clean and free of rust and oxidation. Overall, a gorgeous example of a fairly common freight car.
Lastly, a hard-to-find Early Classic / Three Cities box is included with this freight car. The box has one nice end and one poor end that is missing all flaps as seen in the photos above.
