Here's a brand new, never used and truly Mint Erie freight car from the 1951 era. These early 6454 box cars are both popular and prototypical looking plus have become a favorite of many collectors and operators these days. This freight car has staple end trucks, die-cast side doors and no corner steps on the frame. Externally, the colors are vibrant plus the side lettering and graphics are in pristine condition. There is nothing nicked, chipped nor damaged on the box car however there are a handful of small paint flakes scattered throughout the body (which is very typical of a Lionel train purchased from Madison Hardware in the 1990's). Lastly, the frame, trucks, door guides and couplers are clean and free or rust and oxidation. Overall, a gorgeous box car!
