Now available for sale is a nice and clean set of the green tinplate passenger cars produced in the late 1940's. Each car has the correct magnetic couplers as well as beautiful exterior colors with crisp, complete side lettering that is not faded nor worn. The roofs are clean, but each roof does have a couple of minor surface marks from either usage or storage. Lastly, the bottom of each car as well as the trucks and couplers are all complete, functional and free of rust and oxidation plus all interior lights have been rewired and are fully functional.
Finally, one side of the observation car (see photo 7 above) has some paint loss by several of the lower simulated rivets. This appears to be due to a poorly prepped surface area by Lionel prior to painting as there are no signs of rust or oxidation, simply paint not properly sticking to the surface.
Please note: like most tinplate passenger cars from this era, the interior plastic window strips have deteriorated and are no longer in the windows.
