Up for sale is a New Old Stock # 6362 Rail Truck Flatcar from the late 1950's!
Now available for purchase is a brand new, never used Rail Truck flatcar with an original set of trucks. This freight car was purchased from a collection where a significant number of items were obtained from Madison Hardware's days in Michigan in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. For this freight car, there is no documentation indicating it came from Madison Hardware, however the external condition is consistent with many of the items sold out of the Michigan location; the item is unrun, all internal components are present plus the box has the customary moisture staining on the exterior like so many other Madison Hardware boxes.
This flatcar and its load are in gorgeous condition. The exterior colors are vibrant, the side sans-serif lettering is crisp and complete plus all metal components are factory fresh, free of rust and oxidation and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track. There are no nicks, chips nor damage on the body, the corner steps are complete plus there are no signs of wear nor usage. Additionally, all three component loads are the correct truck variation and all wheels on each of the separate trucks are also in mint, unrun condition. Overall, a truly gorgeous freight car.
Lastly, the original box is included with this flatcar. Like many Madison Hardware boxes, this box is complete with all internal and external flaps and there is no tape on the box. However, the box does have the customary moisture staining on the exterior from the NYC location plus it does have the typical small puncture holes on the sides as these freight car did not fit perfectly into their original boxes.
