Now available for sale is a New Old Stock # 6361 Timber Transport Car from 1959!
This realistic looking log car has a factory fresh exterior with vibrant colors, gorgeous side lettering plus an extremely clean frame and set of trucks. According to the prior owner, this log car was purchased from Madison Hardware in the early 1990's when their inventory was moved from New York City to Michigan. However, there is no paperwork supporting this history, although the external condition is consistent with many items sold from the Michigan location; unrun, minor surface marks and simply in fantastic condition.
The log car has original postwar logs along with an original set of black chains and spring. The body is free of nicks, chips and cracks and the only blemish appears to be some light marks on the top as seen in the 5th photo above (they are not scratches, but rather imperfections or discoloration within the body mold). Otherwise the frame and trucks are spotless and the wheels show no signs of ever being on the track.
Also included with this freight car are its original instructions and Perforated Panel box. The instructions are spotless and look to be near-new! The box has the typical wear and handling characteristics of a Madison Hardware box. Externally it's in decent condition, nice colors, but a bit squashed, some of the rear exterior layer is missing due to tape and it is missing several internal flaps (plus there is some clear tape on two of the existing flaps). Overall, a decent box and beautiful instructions to compliment a new freight car!
