Up for sale is a stunning, near-new and scarce 6257 Lionel caboose with the painted stack and the correct early frame with simulated side tool bins! Externally, the caboose is flawless; the colors are pristine, the side lettering and graphics are vibrant and crisp plus there are no stress cracks on either end.
The frame -- quite possibly as rare as the caboose itself -- is the correct variation with simulated side tool bins. When inspecting the frame closely, there's no evidence a light was ever installed and the frame has original postwar paint -- which helps to validate it's an original 6257 frame, not a 6457 frame customized or re-painted to fit the 6257 shell. Additionally, the end railings have nice original paint and the frame itself is clean, free of marks and obviously no signs of rust nor oxidation.
